JR is a Parisian photographer; his project 28 Millimetres: WOMEN was enthused by the time he spent in Rio de Janeiro. The project’s focal point is the women who have been affected by crime and have lost loved ones to violent crimes and who still live in the repressive conditions rigged by crime. He pasted images of their eyes onto the buildings of Providencia which generated powerful images that could be seen around the world.
